My notes, adapted from Gregg Braden's book Walking Between the Worlds, one of my most life-altering reads from my all-time favorite author. The Three Universal Fears Your charge of universal fears, though often unconscious, is your promise that you will create patterns of relationships showing you these fears. With few exceptions, our experiences of pain, suffering, illness, disease, and emotional trauma have their roots in these core universal fears. These are the three basic underlying fears many of us experience: 1. Abandonment and Separation We feel left or abandoned by our creator without explanation or reason. We feel alone . (Ex: "our father who art in heaven" vs. "our father who is everywhere"). Expressed as : relationships where you are devastated when they fail, always being the one who gets "left" in the relationship, and/or being the first to leave a good relationship so that you are not hurt. 2. The winter season officially begins with the solstice - which falls on Monday, December 21st 2009 at 3:38PM Pacific time this year.   The sun is up for the shortest time of the year on this day , making it our longest night of the year.  It marks a shift of seasons - from autumn to winter. July 25th is celebrated as a Day Out of Time on the Thirteen Moon calendar. The essence of this day is a beautiful one that I love to celebrate. A brief background: The Thirteen Moon calendar is presented as a conscious radical alternative to our modern Gregorian calendar. The philosophy behind it is to renew and revision our world beginning with taking back our time - by changing the calendar to "r eclaim the natural rhythm!" Both the Thirteen Moon and Mayan calendars were created with the purpose of orienting consciousness to the larger flow of divine creation. The intention of these calendars is to remind people of the true essence of time and to guide it's use to create heaven on Earth. Heaven is attained by flowing with creation. Rather than time passing by, they flow in it. They have a whole different presence with and concept of time; they live it as art and participate in divine creation. Celebrate the essence of the current season by working with the natural energies that arise during it.  Making the best of what is, rather than dreading the change, always makes the time more fun. Different times of the year have naturally occurring aspects that result from their key characteristics.  Today I came across the chart below while reading a book. The keys of each time that it highlights are very similar to what I recognize from my own findings in the cycles of time. Throughout each cycle, I connect more deeply with the divinity of the current moment in time. Aligning with the seasons allows me a greater feeling of connection and purpose.  Take a moment to connect with the keywords used. November 13, 2008 The mayan calendar switches to the sixth day today. This day is symbolized as consciousness surpassing technology. If you haven't learned about the amazing beauty of the mayan calendar yet, I highly recommended exploring it for a few minutes. Not only is it an enjoyable new perspective, it is incredibly interesting. To quickly overview, and drastically short-change you on the interesting details, I will share my super-condensed notes from a reality-shifting video I watched a few years ago. Enjoy a short journey of creative ponderance and open your imagination. I'm sure it will be a nice retreat for a few minutes! Calendars such as the Mayan, Tibetan, Hebrew, Egyptian and Maori followed a 360-day Divine calendar. This was based on the flow of creation, breaking up time into cycles of 7 days and 6 nights. The first thing I would like to say is ‘thank you.’ Not only has Harvard given me an extraordinary honour, but the weeks of fear and nausea I’ve experienced at the thought of giving this commencement address have made me lose weight.
