Feel Great Being Grateful

Gratitude is the easiest way to really be happy. We’ve been taught this so much that we don’t value it anymore. However, giving thanks not only improves your living, it heals feelings, and allows joy to be a regular force in your life. Sure it sounds easy. But so many of us are numb to the feeling of being thankful. We take for granted the soft pillow that comforts our head and the clean water we have for a bath. Small things - sure, yet huge conveniences and benefits. We’d definitely notice if they were gone! Not until my own personal experience with this lesson, did I know it so well myself. About a year ago my mom’s house was in one of the California wildfire areas. She got her favorite items and animals and evacuated her home. The firemen decided it was too dangerous to protect the canyon where her home is. They let the fire go free in the whole canyon. My mom was devastated. I was stuck at work and longed to be there to support her...

:: Spring Begins :: Equinox Exercises for Exploration

Welcome to spring!  It kicks off Sunday with the official equinox. And Spring arose on the garden fair,  Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere; And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast  rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.  ~ Percy Bysshe Shelley Right now is the best time to connect with the clarity you have learned from the dark winter while it's fresh.  The long cold season has left Earth bare and the rain has washed it clean. The changes of the seasons are reflected in ourselves as well.  By making the most of this opportune time, we gain a clearer perspective before planting, fertilizing, and nurturing our seeds for this new  yearly cycle .  Using this process consciously can make significant shifts in what you harvest in fall for this year. Exercises for Exploration and Growth Sunday : Be aware of what instincts and desires you have all day. Take note of what arises.  Just simply note feelings and as ...

Rise and Shine!

Catch the Desire to Rise, Consistently… There is something special about entrepreneurs.   We have a different view on life.   We see through a different lens.   This lens magnifies opportunity, vision, and possibility.   We believe we can do it.   We make it happen.   We follow through with our steady drive as we develop and reach for our goals. We find a way to get what we want one way or another.   We’re tuned in to our inner voice.   We stand up for our ideals and truth, even in the face of fear.   We thrive on living life to the fullest. "You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand."   - Woodrow Wilson However, we all have our days.   Sometimes it seems we’ve lost some of the air in our balloons.  ...

Who Do You Surround Yourself With?

This is one of the articles/lessons that I most appreciate.  Thought I'd revive it and take it to another level =) They say you become most like the five people you are closest to. We are truly impacted by everyone we come in contact with. Each one makes an impression somewhat, with various intensities depending on either our closeness to them or the levels of our charges on them (positive attraction or negative rejection). Either way, a simple interaction can leave us forever impacted. Whether we are conscious of it or not (most of us are too busy to pay attention), as we engage with others, our energy  is sparked in various ways. The people we spend the most time with have a great deal of influence on us and our growth.   Those we surround ourselves with are who we are becoming alike.  Are the five people you are closest to in your life pulling you up to higher levels of yourself?  Or are they bringing you down/holding you back?  Would it be...

Back in School!

Today was my first time being back in school after taking a few years off.  I’ve enjoyed school a lot for quite a while now.  I noticed last time I returned to school, about four years ago after taking a break for nearly five years, that I had changed my attitude about learning.  I went from feeling bothered that my time was being used for something that I didn’t value to feeling very appreciative for the opportunity to learn.  It wasn’t easy to squeeze into my schedule, it was hard to afford to go, and it was tough the first day of class, but I realized the wonderful benefit of learning in an environment dedicated to teaching me.  Although I appreciated learning, it was very hard to give up time with my young son at the time.  I decided to put my education on hold for a few more years to focus on treasuring the time with him while he was so little. Well, it’s finally the right time to return to school.  I have a wonderful support network and all...

Prime Life Project

We all have the regular areas of our self that we work on while developing, such as: Education/learning Having fun in our experience Sharing time with family and friends Etc. However, what is your Prime Life Project ? A Prime Life Project is the greatest goal of your life, your overall purpose, or the one thing you most want to accomplish and share with the world. We often come up with ideas about what we want to do with our life, get comfortable with these ideas, and become stagnant.   Take the time out to reconnect with what you want to do and see if anything new is rising within you.   Find out what it is you're doing with your life, again .  This question really can't be asked too often.  It's something we should reconnect with regularly so that we don't settle with outdated dreams.  As we grow, we have the capacity for greater visions - and we should expand them every so often. So take a day, or more, to revamp your greatest aspirations. ...

Your Whole Self - Inner Child, Self, and Soul

There are all types of beliefs about the self, but this is what I believe.  I'm putting this up as a foundation for other things I want to share.  As with most things that I believe, I learned this by being open to hear others' opinions and teachings, applying them to myself and my experiences, and feeling my way through what resonates with me as feeling true and right (for me). Of course, me being me, thought of this as total BS the first time I heard of it.  But thank God, I was open enough to consider it, as I have learned over time the great value contained within this concept.  There are three key parts: The Inner Child Often seen as the part of us that is pure and innocent, the inner child is a snapshot of us when we were around six years old - before we entered kindergarten and began focusing on left brain activity (logic).  This energy remains with us forever and is the happy, playful part of ourselves.   The "dark side" of the inner ch...
