Hidden Blessings in Hard Times

Lately it seems we all have had some times where things were feeling tough. I’ve felt painfully stuck in recent times, more than ever, and seen many others reach this point as well. Yes, yes these are the cycles of life. And every cycle has it’s benefits… I know. I have been opening to the blessings of these hard times and the more that I do, the easier they become. Here are some things to ponder on when everything seems to be going totally wrong. A Greater Relationship With God Sad to say, but often times my relationship with our Creator takes a back seat to life and can become a smaller and smaller focus of my day. In times of despair, I am more naturally open to spiritual guidance and connection. Each time I hit a wall, my personal relationship with God is deepened in ways I’ll never forget. It becomes more of a priority in my daily rituals as well with greater meaning. When times are tough, use them to prompt a deepening of your sacred relationships. Th...

Oh My Gosh, No You Didn't!

"She should not be wearing that." "He is such an ass." "I am flabbergasted at how she acted." "How could he really do that?" All of these display your judgment. Actually much of what we say and think does. Even though almost every form of spiritual approach or religion has some core belief based on “ only God shall judge ", it is still such a predominant practice in our day and time. In fact, we invest great amounts of energy into this daily. Why is that? Judgment is a defense we use internally for those things that we are not willing to accept or do not yet understand. Let’s look more deeply at the root, rather than sticking to surface understandings. We judge others when we feel offended or threatened by something about them. Otherwise we wouldn’t feel irritated. We’d simply look at them with compassion. We’d perhaps even help to guide them beyond this opportunity for growth that we can so easily se...

Emotions: Changing Feelings into Freelings

I have been opening to feelings on a greater level. I am learning to honor them as divine signposts rather than seeing them as problems. Why the hell would I do this, you ask? I assure you this decision was reached with reason. This isn’t something I thought might be a fun exploration.     I have realized that as I open to really feeling my feelings, I can feel much more of the beauty of life. As I pay attention to them, my life is more rich and free. I feel a surge of happiness in my daily being naturally when I am clear with what I feel. When I look at the feelings that make me feel bad, it releases those negative charges and I exude gratitude much more naturally. Living from this emanation of thankfulness and appreciation for life makes my days a whole lot more enjoyable and real. "The lightning flashes and the thunder roars and the superior man does not drop the ceremonial spoon." But there’s a reason this was hidden to me for so much of...

Thoughts on Perfection

Perfection in Every Moment Everyone is around you for some reason.  From the person behind you in line to your mother-in-law.  If you are open, you can find a lesson in anything.  And as a bonus, you can find the value of these relationships that bother you.  Those ones that irritate you the most.  Maybe so much that you can release the need for them to be.  We can make the most of all of our relationships with some basic understanding. Relationships are the keys to growth. They are temples of today. Each moment in itself is Perfect.  Not like perfectly enjoyable, but perfectly what we need to continue in our growth. Aspects are set up exactly to mirror your patterns to you.  You are in each situation in order to learn something that you have not mastered yet.  If you become conscious of this, you feel more in sync with your life by realizing the opportunities within it.  You lose the "victim" of circumstances attitude and l...
