A New Template of Time

I have a lot I want to do, yet I want to enjoy it all. I don't want too much rushing or working too hard that I’m exhausted. I’ve learned the hard way that I love balance and free time – and it is very good for me. When life has changes such as school starting or internal shifts in direction, I start over with fresh a clean slate and creatively develop a new intuitive strategy. One that allows me the lifestyle that’s important and has ultimate freedom within it. So this week is one of those times when it rises naturally again for me with school in session and client scheduling to figure out. I am ready to create a new template of time. I find life most refreshing when I am aware of my boundaries from a higher perspective with clarity in direction and then consciously explore and create my preferences in the details. It’s something I do incessantly out of curiosity. My little game with myself. Sometimes I get carried away figuring out what I like ...

Start with the Rocks

Every day we have things that are key and must be done. These priorities are the rocks in our day which all other happenings flow around. Our rocks can be determined based on many different values. How fast we need something done, fulfilling a commitment we’ve made, paying off a debt we feel we owe, indulging in play, fulfilling a dream, a spiritual satisfaction… these feelings and many others often create our reality - based on the time we invest in them and how much we make sure they happen. Our real rocks are whatever rises as being most important at the time - that which truly receives our presence and attention. We learn as we go - what we did that felt right and what we could have done better. We realize which rocks were a great decision and which were not quite ideal. As we continue along, we discover our preferences. We become more selective of our rocks and the use of all of our energies - it's a continuous inner exploration. Steps to Develop...

Taking a Great Break!

When you work hard, it is essential to take breaks. Breaking up activity is not only beneficial be cause its fun, but it also allows more focus and energy when you get back to work. Cycling periods of work and rest is the best way to not only accomplish a lot but also love doing it. During your breaks, do what you love. Rotate them based on how you feel at that time. Some may be playing a favorite game, resting, reading a book, going for a walk, watching a treasured show, etc. Whatever you enjoy doing that is relaxing and/or fun. My Favorites of the Moment I am always into one game or another. Lately my favorites are teaching AJ an old school classic like “The Game of Life” or cards, the Wii Game Animal Crossing City Folk , or an iPhone game by Electronic Arts. I let myself get totally into my game of the moment and enjoy the mastery of it. I usually don’t watch too much TV – I watched a lifetime worth while I was growing up – but lately I’ve gotte...

Know Your Role

Imagine someone wants to make a cartoon with you in it. What character are you? Are you the guy with the long, heavy jackets? Are you the girl with the goofy laugh? Are you the one who always seems to be in trouble? Over the past week, our family has been having a lot of fun exploring this. We’ve gotten into the anime cartoon Avatar. It’s a kid’s show with a lot of adventure and heart. AJ was watching it on TV and soon we were all intrigued. We’ve had fun catching up on past episodes and following the journey together. It’s so fun for my inner child to enjoy a cartoon this much again. It's also exciting as it is being made into a movie by M. Night Shyamalan to be released next year. Can't wait! One of the most fun things about our trip together has been picking out what character we are most like in the cartoon. This one has some classic characters that are a lot of fun to get to know. I’ve always been interested in different types of c...

Off to Kindergarten!

Well, my little baby boy has gone off to kindergarten! It’s been as big of an experience for me as it has been for him, I’m sure. Each step of being a parent has surprised me. I discover who I am as a mother, how it feels to have a child, and witness the growth of life so closely (yet not too direct that its hard to see). It’s a beautiful unfolding that I treasure dearly - some of my greatest experiences of life. I never anticipated it would be such a big deal for me to send him off to school. But now that I’m here and it’s him, it has been a very big deal. It felt like I was officially letting go of a piece of my heart as he enters the world on a larger level. I always enjoy my time with my little cutie. Every stage I wish he could freeze him in that age, thinking it can’t possibly get better… but it does. I treasure them all. However, there’s something so special to me about his age right now that I will always hold extra dear. An innocence. A genuine...

Replenishing Energy Throughout the Day

Breaking up large projects or heavy mental activity with physical activities can refresh your energy and concentration, allowing you to get done much faster – and create much better work. Every so often, take a break. Get off the computer, get out of your chair, get up, and do some type of light physical activity. Try going for a walk or sweeping. Setting up your environment and cleaning it so that it’s clear and feels good to be in not only breaks up your energy, but also helps you focus on what you want to get done. A workspace that is ready encourages your higher development of the work that you are committed to. Do whatever feels refreshing for you. Before your settle back in, make sure your desk is clean, your mind is clear, and you have all the tools you need within reach. Get yourself a drink of water to keep near. Tea is also a great way of kicking up light energy. When all is in order, you can focus on your magic and fly through your project w...

September Strategy: Push It Through

I always love playing with life and the exploration of it. A classic Sagittarius, some say… In recent weeks I’ve been working on my biggest projects (both work and creative endeavors) and developing them greatly. What I am doing now is more heartfelt than ever before. However, it also brings an overwhelm of things to do… This month brings the opportunity to push these projects through on a new level. An emergence and breakthrough. What’s rising: Focus on what is clear and true. The real work. No distractions. Roll up sleeves, apply self-discipline, and get the job done. Keep consistent open navigation. Notice new ideas and methods. Create regular space to receive creative ideas and fresh opportunities. Nurture energy with healthy conditions and cleanse excesses. Go toward where happiness is felt in the heart. Autumn’s harvest is just around the corner… what are you harvesting? Enjoy the last two weeks of ...
