Stop and Smell the Flowers

Flowers are a wonderful reminder of the power of beauty.  Notice the symbolism they reflect for the individual, love, friendship, and much more. Take some time out and open to what is triggered within you as you read this... A ripe bud is ready to pop open.  It takes its own sweet time. Pedals spread wide in full bloom, displaying an amazing sight.  A glimpse brightens the day.   The flower emits a luring essence.  A simple sniff awakens joy.  Senses are teased and satisfied by their encounter with this beautiful flower. Before long, the flower dries out and then falls.  It's over.  The flower returns to the dirt. Soon after another bud sprouts. The cycle continues.... Flowers are reflections of us.  They  grow best when well nurtured and each with its own needs with different levels of these requirements - such as water, sunshine, air, and nutrient-rich soil . “And the day came when the risk to remain tig...

A New Year's Compass - Tool of Self Alignment for Starting Anew.

Ready for a Fresh Start for the New Year? I am! I feel very excited. It feels like the right time to let go of things that I no longer need or prefer to have in my life anymore and to stand up to new levels of growth and experience. This week, I felt tuned inward, like I've been tending to some inner work and resting, in preparation for a great start in the New Year. As it gets closer, I am more enthusiastic about it. I Can't Believe I Am 30!!! Reflections and the Future...

There’s always some sadness as I feel that time is slipping away. Never again in this lifetime will I be a young girl in my teens or twenties. Those days are behind me now - for good. It’s a reminder that this beautiful life is not forever… being with that thought both hurts and relieves me at the same time. However, it is with incredible enthusiasm that I step forward. Each day I become more me . Now I stand on a greater foundation, with outstanding vision, faith, and a solid relationship with my self. It seems every birthday brings some kind of weird mood. It's something nearly all of us go through, I think. On my 26 th birthday I decided I was no longer a helpless princess. On that day I first faced the feelings of getting older. “What more is there to look forward to?” I questioned my self. “No more exciting birthdays in the future?” At that moment, I decided to change into a Queen. It was a mindset shift into greater power within myself...

Tuesday Morning

September morning, all on their way. A weekday journey through downtown. Pretty close, not so far away. Another world it seems, with many different things. Oh, what a reflection it brings. A window shows the sorrow many know. Learning the hard way, feeling alone. Not knowing where to turn. Rising again dawn after dawn. They keep on. And on. I see things that some never see. And some never see beyond. Rather than weep, I give thanks for all I got. And walk toward helping another. Loving all I can as my own brother. Beautiful people trying their best. Sometimes forgotten with little rest. The more I look, I see – How much everyone is just like me. You, I, he, she, they, us. All reflections of Thee. So thankful today...I love we! A Moment of Observation Reflects Truth: Candles… and Light

Simple sights seen in my eyes… with many layers of meaning . When one candle is already lit with a healthy, steady fire, it is easy to light another – at no cost to itself. However if this candle gets too close to another with a weak flame, it may extinguish itself. Sparking a new flame requires skill and tools. A balance of space and strength ensure a steady fire. The intention held when lighting a candle is a very powerful gift and prayer. The lit candle invokes a subliminal reminder of this intention. As one is more present, these reminders can be delightful to find. A candle has a lasting power… in its essence. Danielle Marie Crume

Hidden Blessings in Hard Times

Lately it seems we all have had some times where things were feeling tough. I’ve felt painfully stuck in recent times, more than ever, and seen many others reach this point as well. Yes, yes these are the cycles of life. And every cycle has it’s benefits… I know. I have been opening to the blessings of these hard times and the more that I do, the easier they become. Here are some things to ponder on when everything seems to be going totally wrong. A Greater Relationship With God Sad to say, but often times my relationship with our Creator takes a back seat to life and can become a smaller and smaller focus of my day. In times of despair, I am more naturally open to spiritual guidance and connection. Each time I hit a wall, my personal relationship with God is deepened in ways I’ll never forget. It becomes more of a priority in my daily rituals as well with greater meaning. When times are tough, use them to prompt a deepening of your sacred relationships. Th...

A Letter to My Partnered Self, From My Single Self

I wrote this letter a couple of years ago in strength after a tough breakup. I was connected with realizations about my usual patterns and what parts of myself I gave away when I was in a relationship. I was on a different side of love than usual and took these notes to remind myself of what I could see. I wanted to remember these lessons when I was in a relationship to keep a balance of nurturing myself to allow my future partnership to flourish on greater levels, no matter how "different" I may feel. I just found this letter again and see I can heed my own advice here more... However, I found these notes very refreshing and would love to share them with you. Here is the letter: Always have: · A 10 minute walk to self - connect with nature · Own relations with everyone · A good friend to confide in and seek council from · Savings available, my own car, and bath supplies (for a sanctuary retreat when needed) · My own creati...
