Feel Great Being Grateful

Gratitude is the easiest way to really be happy. We’ve been taught this so much that we don’t value it anymore. However, giving thanks not only improves your living, it heals feelings, and allows joy to be a regular force in your life. Sure it sounds easy. But so many of us are numb to the feeling of being thankful. We take for granted the soft pillow that comforts our head and the clean water we have for a bath. Small things - sure, yet huge conveniences and benefits. We’d definitely notice if they were gone! Not until my own personal experience with this lesson, did I know it so well myself. About a year ago my mom’s house was in one of the California wildfire areas. She got her favorite items and animals and evacuated her home. The firemen decided it was too dangerous to protect the canyon where her home is. They let the fire go free in the whole canyon. My mom was devastated. I was stuck at work and longed to be there to support her...

The Essence of Autumn

Goodbye summer.  Thanks for the wonderful times!   Friday, September 23rd marks the beginning of the fall season, with the autumnal equinox. The equinox  has been celebrated since ancient times as having great significance.   On this day, the length of day and night are exactly equal.    Nights will become longer as autumn passes.   The essence of each season is a reflection of what is going on with us.  Read these keywords and see if you can see similarities to the cycles you are personally going through. As summer transitions into fall, p lants are supple with life. The fruits of our labor are now ripe for the picking.  Family gathers, giving thanks for the season's harvest.  Refreshing cool breezes return.  Leaves fall as mother nature clears off her branches.   This season involves a lot of activity and visible transitions. Autumn is the season of culmination, celebration, and space. If you've been dilige...

Who Do You Surround Yourself With?

This is one of the articles/lessons that I most appreciate.  Thought I'd revive it and take it to another level =) They say you become most like the five people you are closest to. We are truly impacted by everyone we come in contact with. Each one makes an impression somewhat, with various intensities depending on either our closeness to them or the levels of our charges on them (positive attraction or negative rejection). Either way, a simple interaction can leave us forever impacted. Whether we are conscious of it or not (most of us are too busy to pay attention), as we engage with others, our energy  is sparked in various ways. The people we spend the most time with have a great deal of influence on us and our growth.   Those we surround ourselves with are who we are becoming alike.  Are the five people you are closest to in your life pulling you up to higher levels of yourself?  Or are they bringing you down/holding you back?  Would it be...

Your Whole Self - Inner Child, Self, and Soul

There are all types of beliefs about the self, but this is what I believe.  I'm putting this up as a foundation for other things I want to share.  As with most things that I believe, I learned this by being open to hear others' opinions and teachings, applying them to myself and my experiences, and feeling my way through what resonates with me as feeling true and right (for me). Of course, me being me, thought of this as total BS the first time I heard of it.  But thank God, I was open enough to consider it, as I have learned over time the great value contained within this concept.  There are three key parts: The Inner Child Often seen as the part of us that is pure and innocent, the inner child is a snapshot of us when we were around six years old - before we entered kindergarten and began focusing on left brain activity (logic).  This energy remains with us forever and is the happy, playful part of ourselves.   The "dark side" of the inner ch...

The Power of Holding a Grand Vision

“Reach for the stars.  If you fall, you’ll land on the clouds.” The laws of attraction prove that you attract whatever it is that you invest your energy into.   So basically if you think from a place of lack, you experience lack.   If you spend a lot of time worrying about things that won’t work, things won’t work.   If you instead focus your energy and attention on what you want to have – as if you already have it – you attract it to happen.   Rather than focusing on what you fear or feeling like you’re “so close” to having what you want, you have got to feel that you have it already and act as if it is true right now.   As you do this, things fall into place in miraculous ways.   We’ve all experienced glimpses of it.   Some of us experience it daily.   Honestly, w e can’t even perceive the infinite ways the universe can give us something that we want.   Why limit our avenues of reception by attempting to perceive that we kno...

Just One Step at a Time

Life is challenging. At times it seems like a test - or perhaps a final exam. It can feel like a culmination of your previous lessons where everything is on the line and every move you make is extremely important. At these pivotal points - and sometimes in our regular daily active life - it can seem impossible to make it. Or perhaps not worth the trouble. But these challenges are the exact things that we need to grow. As we master our smaller lessons, they get bigger and may seem impossible at times. It's important to trust, especially when everything is on the line. Notice it always works out somehow. Check your faith and your "talk" or ideals. While you're at it, step more fully into it. "Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see". ~ Hebrews 11:1 Although you can't always see how everything can work out, you often can see the next step to take. There may be several options and it m...
