Love Energy

Excerpt from Shamanic Experience by Kenneth Meadows. Love energy is the power that brought everything into existence, and from which everything is derived. The elements of Fire, Air, Water and Earth stem from it. The whole of Creation quite literally was brought about by the power of Love. The Love energy should not be confused with sex energy, though this can be a positive expression of it. In shamanic understanding, love is an unconditional sharing of the experience of life - of the Life Force - and desires only the harmonious growth and development of whatever it is directed towards. In a human being this Love energy arouses feelings of joy and happiness in both the receiver and the giver because it actually produces a secretion that nourishes not only the physical body but the entire being. That is why when you smile at someone they'll smile back - an immediate response to a warm inner feeling that someone desires their well-being. In an instant Love energy has been given out and returned, and the atmosphere transformed. So if you can learn to smile at yourself, you can bask in a warm harmonizing energy that will penetrate your whole being and permeate your entire energy system. Develop an inward smile.

Licorice Grandpa

In high school I wrote this story about my beloved Grandpa Chuck.  I just read it again yesterday for the first time in 15 years to my son.  I am very thankful to remember these details I had forgotten and to share the essence of such a wonderful man with my boy.   I also realized how much of an impact he has made on me that still holds in my character today.  In memory of grandpa, here is the story.  Slightly edited. :) Licorice Grandpa My grandpa was simply the best.  There is no way I can describe what an incredible person he was.  He seemed to be the only grandpa alive who was still "a kid" inside.  It is because of these reasons that my grandpa Chuck has made an impact on how I live my life today.
